Live Review : Summer 2011 (Bank Bar, Dundee)

Love, Susan rocked the Bank Bar in Dundee recently, performing 2 hours of music to a packed venue.  It was the band’s first ‘unplugged’ gig, and it seemed to go down well with the capacity crowd.  Andy G (Dead Earnest) was in the crowd, and here are a few choice excerpts from his review, plus you can read the full text on the Dead Earnest website.

…The band gave a solid performance, particularly Ed on the keyboard whose melodies pervaded every song and who gave a truly excellent rendition of the opening to their EP starter track “Alive”. Susan, meanwhile, was delivering every song with passion, fun and enthusiasm, each song getting a solid applause from what was a standing room-only Bank Bar…

What they do is truly unique – OK, so it’s melodic, it’s pop and it’s sung and played to perfection, but there is so much more to it, thanks to that amazing voice and the natural flow of the band, so that at no time do you feel like you’re listening to anything other than a sheer top quality band. They did a cover of Heart’s “Alone” for which Susan gave a rendition every bit as good as the Wilson sisters and wowed everyone in the place…
